The US Department of Commerce has entered into the next
phase of the Presidential Initiative, HSPD-12... PIV II. Following are
the updated badge procedures.
CAC
(DOD Card)/GSA
Solution Card vs. MRSO Access Card
- CAC/GSA Card:
- The only HSPD-12 compliant form of identification for
Department
of Commerce Employees.
- MRSO Access Card:
- A blank access card for NOAA & NTIA, or a button for
NIST (Boulder site) is issued for electronic access to MRSO serviced
facilities.
- For new personnel, a temporary picture ID is issued until a
CAC/GSA card can be
obtained.

GSA Solution Card:
If you have any questions regarding the GSA Card, please contact your
local USAccess
Center. For the Boulder

MRSO Access Card/Temporary ID
If you have any

A 90 day MRSO temporary Photo ID
card will be
issued
until
the employee obtains their GSA Solution Card. During
this time, the
employee will need to find a USAcess
Credentialing Center and obtain a GSA
Solution Card
before their temporary card expires.

a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) before their temporary
card expires.
- Effective 09/10/2009, NWS Bargaining Unit Federal
Employees have been approved to obtain the CAC.

with NOAA for 180 days
or more will be issued a MRSO temporary ID card. During this time,
the contractor will need to:
- Have their Trusted
Agent
input their required information into
the Contractor Verification System (CVS);
- Find a RAPIDS
Site and obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC)
before their temporary card expires.
